How the Club works

Bellahouston Road Runners would not exist without the good will and hard work of its members. All formal roles from the coaches to the Committee are filled by volunteers, who put in a lot of work in their spare time to ensure that activities such as training nights, races, organised trips, and social events all run smoothly. Members also put a lot of effort into promoting the Club to the outside world through outlets such as Social Media, the press and this website.

The day-to-day running of the club is undertaken by the Committee, who are elected on a yearly basis at the AGM. The Committee perform a huge range of tasks from overseeing Club finances to organising trips. We’d encourage any member of the Club, who thinks they can make a contribution to its activities and who has been a member for more than a year to stand for one of the Committee positions.

All of our coaches are also volunteers; they put in a lot of effort behind the scenes to ensure that YOU get the most out of your running. Their work includes developing training schedules, liaising with the Club Captains and leading training groups. Our coaches have also put in time to obtain their coaching certificates. If you would like to contribute to coaching within the club then please contact one of the Committee members.

Finally, many others also make a valuable contribution, notably organising training camps, Club teams for special events and weekend training runs.

Remember: it’s YOUR club, we’d encourage you to play an active part!
