We’ll shortly be sending final instructions to participants email addresses.
If you don’t receive your copy this evening, please check your spam folders, and mark any email from bellahoustonroadrunners.co.uk you find there as not spam, to help our emails reach you, and others, in future. Note too if you registered two people with the same email address, you will only receive one copy of the instructions. Please review the entrycentral.com/bella10k entry list or get in touch with us if you’re unsure.
We hope that your preparations have gone well and you are looking forward to the race. Please will you take a moment to read the instructions below.
If you are unable to run, please email email@example.com as soon as possible so that we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list.
Collecting your race number
We strongly encourage you to collect your race number in advance from our sponsors achilles heel, 593 Great Western Rd, Glasgow G12 8HX. You may do so from Tuesday, 6 November until midday Saturday, 10 November. The shop is open from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. (or 6.30 p.m. on Thursday).
Numbers can also be collected on race day from Race HQ (500m from start) from 10 a.m. until 11.30 a.m.. It is likely to be very busy so please allow plenty of time.
Note anybody who accepted a place via the waiting list (on/after Sunday 4th November), must go to Race HQ on the day: These cannot be collected in advance from Achilles heel.
Your race number should be clearly attached to the front of your running top. It contains your timing chip, and will provide you with an accurate time.
Bag drop, changing and toilets
Race HQ is at Craigton Primary School, 9 Morven Street, Glasgow G52 1AL. This is 500m from the start.
There will be a bag drop at the school. Items are left entirely at the runner’s own risk.
There will be toilets and changing facilities (sorry, no showers) in the school, and portable toilets in the park near the finish area, on the way to the start from registration.
Free on-street parking is available on Mosspark Boulevard (satnav G52 1JH), Paisley Road West (east of Helen Street, satnav G52 1EQ), and other streets around Bellahouston Park, all just a short walk to the Race HQ just to the north west of the park. When parking, please be respectful of nearby residents and please do not obstruct entrances or park on the pavement. We’d request participants do not park near the school, or in the sports centre.
The start is near the top of the park. From the Empire exhibition memorial at the top of the steps behind the leisure centre, go 200m down the path towards the Dumbreck Road entrance
The race starts at midday. Please note in recognition of the centenary of the Armistice, we will be asking everybody to observe a one minute silence immediately before the start.
Please make sure you look at the map of our new 2018 course beforehand: https://bellahoustonroadrunners.co.uk/events/bella-10k. Water will be available near the 5k point and at the finish.
Please collect your finisher’s bag and t-shirt at the finish before proceeding to the post-race buffet at Craigton Primary School. The buffet is free but we will be collecting donations for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.
The race presentation will take place at approximately 1.45 p.m. at the school.
From all at Bellahouston Road Runners we hope you enjoy the event and wish you the best of luck!
